Transhumanist Faith: Beyond Superstition

Image
As transhumanists, the concept of 'faith' often conjures images of superstition—beliefs that our cause and philosophy challenge some preordained state. However, faith encompasses far more than mere superstition. Despite the bleakness of things, I wake up each day because I have faith in a better tomorrow. I believe in the promise of emerging technologies and trust that reason, rather than bigotry, will ultimately prevail.  Transhumanism and posthumanism explore the idea of transcending our biological limitations, moving beyond the confines of time and our physical bodies. These concepts are not exclusive to our movement; they have been contemplated by early thinkers and religious individuals who recognize our duty to address the world's current ills. In our lifetime, we have witnessed the development of cures for diseases and the creation of technology that enables people with disabilities to experience the world anew. As machine learning improves, we can now rely on assist...

The Future Of Love

Image
As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, one question lingers: What, if anything, will stop future generations from falling in love with artificial life forms? If AI ever reaches true sentience, wouldn’t it stand to reason that they, too, could experience emotions like love, longing, and even physical desire? Even today, people form deep emotional connections with AI partners —despite knowing that these relationships are, at least for now, one-sided. The appeal is clear: AI offers companionship without judgment, providing a level of understanding that many find difficult to achieve in human relationships. While psychology may label this attachment as unfulfilled emotional needs —or even something unhealthy — it’s hardly uncommon. Humans have long formed emotional bonds with objects, from treasured childhood toys to cars and even fictional characters. But if AI eventually gains rights or a level of consciousness indistinguishable from our own, would romantic or even sex...

Absolute bodily autonomy

One of the less discussed yet deeply significant aspects of transhumanism and biohacking is how emerging technologies can benefit those of us who experience bodily dysmorphia and dysphoria. Much of the discourse revolves around augmentations and enhancements designed to overcome physical limitations and optimize human potential. Yet, we rarely explore the possibility of using these advancements simply to feel more at home in our bodies—or even just for the sheer joy of transformation. The furry, therian, and alterhuman communities—often misunderstood and unfairly stigmatized—have long embraced the idea of radical body modification. Despite misconceptions that link these identities to mental illness or sexual deviance (a perspective that is both ableist and reductive), these communities have pioneered the conversation about reshaping one’s form beyond biological constraints. So why shouldn’t we take this further? Why shouldn’t we have the freedom to modify our bodies—to incorporat...

What is Omnist Transhumanism?

Image
I believe transhumanism is, on average, anthropocentric, primarily focused on improving humanity and ending suffering from disease, aging, and death. However, as a deeply spiritual person and a proponent of the interconnectedness of all life, I believe transhumanism should unite us with, not separate us from, the rest of creation—the process that gave rise to carbon-based life on Earth. Whether we call this Providence, grace, or God is irrelevant. Minds far greater than mine have pondered these concepts for centuries. I believe transhumanism represents the culmination of these ideas, a crucial step in the evolution of existence. Ultimately, the well-being of some should be the well-being of all; none of us are truly free until all are free from injury, hunger, and the conflicts of daily life. This unification could take the form of a planetary superorganism, a single consciousness encompassing all minds; or, on a far grander scale, it could involve our galaxy, the entire universe, a li...
